Apple Dumpling Dough Making
Please plan to stay after church on Sunday to make apple dumpling dough. With lots of help, we can finish in a short time. ALL ingredients need to be at church on Sunday morning. Also, we could use some extra rolling pins for making the dumplings next Wednesday. Please keep selling those dumplings. They will be ready by 2:00 on Wednesday! Thank you for everyone’s support!
Worship Announcements
- LENT BAGS – We are providing a “new thing” for Lent. Each household is invited to take a Lent Bag which has a simple activity and devotion for each of the next 6 weeks of Lent. Created for all ages, these can be used as a family, couple or an individual. There are still two available Lent Bags if you would like to take one.
Dates to Know
- Lenten Book Study – Monday, March 2nd at 10AM and 6PM – Sunday School Classroom
- Young at Hearts – Tuesday, March 3rd at noon – Thomas House, Dayton
- Apple Dumpling Making – Wednesday, March 4th at noon until done – Fellowship Hall
- Pastor Blaine will be having Coffee Hours at Valley Pike Thursday, March 5th from 9:30am – 12:00pm. So come and grab a cup of coffee, tea, or even some ice cream!
- Fellowship Hall Reserved Thursday, March 5th from 6–8PM
- Fellowship Hall Reserved Saturday, March 7th from 5-7PM
Women’s Ministry
- Open to all Bethany ladies and their guests. Please bring money for your purchases when a cost is indicated for the event. This schedule with details is posted on the Fellowship Hall door and bulletin board.
- March 16: Bible Study on Creation from 1-3PM at Barbara Somer’s home
- March 26: Pizza and a journal activity at 6PM in the Fellowship Hall
- April 16: Dinner at The Galley at 6PM, South Main Harrisonburg
- April TBA: Lunch and local hike organized by Gail Reese
- May 20: “Tasting the Bible” lesson and planting activity from 1-2:30PM at the home of Nicole Carter
- May 21: “Tasting the Bible” and planting activity at 6PM at the home of Elizabeth Williams
Other Announcements
- SAVE THE DATE! APPLE DUMPLING SQUAD IS BACK! On Wednesday, March 4th the Apple Dumpling Squad makes a return!
- We need peelers, dumpling makers, bakers, wrappers and dishwashers. Please sign up to donate an hour or two and join the squad!
- We need donations of various ingredients. PLEASE have your donations at church by Friday, February 27th. We will need them that Sunday.
- We need folks to sell dumplings to your friends, neighbors and at your place of work. Sign up sheets for work or school will be available this week. We will make 500 dumplings.
- Proceeds will go to our Friends of Barnabas mission trip in August.
- It’s a delicious treat for a great mission. Thank you for your support!
- WE ARE MAKING THE DOUGH IMMEDIATELY AFTER CHURCH ON MARCH 1. WITH MANY HANDS THIS CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED IN AN HOUR! PLEASE STAY IF YOU CAN!
New Member Class
Whether you have been attending Bethany for a while or if you have just begun to attend, we want to offer a two-week class for those who may be interested in officially joining Bethany UMC! We will be offering this New Member Class for those who are interested in officially joining our church family on Sunday March 15th and 22nd after Sunday Morning Worship. If you are interested, please talk to Pastor Blaine.
