Current Mission Projects

Annual Progressive Hearts & Baked Potato Bar

The Adult Mission Team invites you to join us for our Annual Progressive Hearts and Baked Potato Bar on Sunday, March 8.  This is an easy, fun game for all ages.  Games begin at 4:30 pm and the Baked Potato Bar at 5:30 pm.  Come play hearts and enjoy a small meal with your Bethany family.  A freewill offering will be taken for our spring local mission project to install a new floor for a Food Pantry neighbor.
If you have questions about these or any of our mission projects, please contact Lori Mooney (brownsugarcookie@yahoo.com) or Maggie Rhodes (r.maggieanne@gmail.com).

Serving Our Neighbors

Bethany serves our neighbors through local mission projects. Many times throughout the year you will find us repairing a roof, building a wheel-chair ramp, serving meals at Valley Mission or making improvements at our local United Methodist retreat center, Camp Overlook. We take on special projects for neighbors in need, and we also work with local organizations like Rebuilding Together, a national organization that performs critical home repairs for low income, elderly, disabled or disadvantaged homeowners in the community. Questions? Ideas? Comments? Contact Lori Mooney (Brownsugarcookie@yahoo.com) or Maggie Rhodes (r.maggieanne@gmail.com).
Bethany is such a giving and loving church. We thank you for all that you contribute in any way that you can. Please keep an open heart all throughout the year and help out when and where you can. Everyone has a calling, so please listen for yours. Still keep eyes and ears open for those in need. If you know of someone, please pass their name onto Maggie Rhodes or Lori Mooney.
Beginning Friday, April 12 at 2:30 pm we will tear off a roof for a neighbor in Dayton.  On Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 am we will begin replacing the roof.  All are invited to assist in any way you are able.  If you can’t physically be present, you can help with the cost of the roof by making a donation.

Bethany Spring Mission Trip

We will be going to Plymouth, NC to work with Coastal Carolina Rebuilding Ministry (formally CROSS).  CCRM is a strategic and intentional justice ministry passionate about eliminating substandard housing on behalf of low income families that continue to struggle against economic depression, exploitation, and discrimination.
We will be leaving on Sunday, March 24 and will return on Friday, March 29.  We invite you to join us for the entire week or for only part of the week if you can’t get away but a few days.  We need skilled folks (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, painters, etc.) to join us, as well as simply willing hearts and hands.  If you would like to join the team or would like to have more information on the trip, please contact Maggie Rhodes at r.maggieanne@gmail.com.

This is just the beginning, there are SO MANY ways to get involved in Missions at Bethany!  CONNECT, GROW & SERVE!

Donate food or time to one of the Food Pantry meals this year.  Contact Lori Mooney or Maggie Rhodes to find out upcoming dates.

We hope to work on a couple different local mission projects during the year.  Stay tuned for upcoming projects and dates.

There will not be an adult mission trip in 2018; however, we are planning a trip in 2019.  Stay tuned for more information.
A Mission trip with FRIENDS OF BARNABAS is planned for October.  Several members from Bethany will join a team to travel to Honduras to deliver medical care to children and their families in the mountains of Honduras.

Volunteer to help during WORSHIP, help out with the YOUTH, donate time to serve our neighbors at the FOOD PANTRY, support our many young families by helping with PARENTS NIGHT OUT, participate in a SEW-A-THON, join the CARING CARDS or VISITATION TEAMS, or get involved with CHILDREN’ MINISTRIES.
